Cycling
As keen
cyclists ourselves we are
extremely lucky to live in the middle of the finest cycling area in
France.
Yes I hear you saying
all cycling web sites say that. Well don't take
our word for it look what the French Tourist Board say by visiting www.cyclo-pyrenees.com
or if off-road is your passion www.vtt-pyrenees.com
The cycling is truly magnificent. To the south and west mountain Cols
made famous by the Tour De France such as Pailheres, Beille, Porte. All
within a days round trip. To the north miles and miles of car free
country roads in stunning scenery. The choice of routes is
endless, we have been cycling here for 6 years and have still not
exhausted the options.
We offer guiding and will accompany you on a daily basis to find the
best routes and the most spectacular views or undiscovered villages.
Vehicle support is available for the more challenging cols or just
route advice depending on
individual wishes. We will organise time trials between guests and
facilitate mountain training sessions. Or if you prefer, tell you where
there is a good market on or a nice lake to swim in.
Airport
transfers or luggage and bike bag collection to enable you to cycle
straight away from your arrival airport are available. Our rates are
simple, bed, breakfast, evening meal and something to keep you
going whilst you are out cycling all in for just 50 Euros per night
(assuming shared room).
The Six (or seven) Cols Tour
Have a look at our tailored Tour taking in Six of the most famous Cols in the Pyrenees stages of the Tour De France.
L'Ariegeoise
The biggest regional cycling event
takes place in June each year. We are ideally placed for training and
taking part in the event. Have a look at the Ariegeoise web site. We can help with entries and transport to and from the start.
Enter
our mountain challenge.
From 2008 we are offering an annual prize for the fastest circuit
through the Defile De Pierre Lys, the Gorge De St Georges, over
Pailheres and Chioula and back. A truly daunting 125km mountain ride in
the steps of the Tour.
Then in the evenings enjoy good food and wines and conviviality sharing
the days experiences and planning the next one.
