Skiing
We
are a skiing family, well everyone 4 years and over is and this area is
superb for skiing with access to the slopes you would die for in the
Alps. As for those long half term queues for the lifts forget it, our
slopes are still relatively undiscovered. I like Formiguere with its
lovely tree lined runs and the challenge of it's slopes and extensive
off piste. The children favour Puyvalador but I think that is because
we met Father Christmas there one Christmas Day. Ax Le Thermes,
Mijanes, Mont D'Homes and Camurac all have their attractions. Les
Angles, Mont Louis are good for those who speak Spanish. You tell us
what sort of skiing you like and we will advise you.
However
Puivert is not a ski resort. Depending on venue we are between 35
minutes and just over 1 hour from the resorts so if you want all day,
every day skiing we are probably not for you. But if not all the family
ski or you want to do some walking, sightseeing, bird watching etc as
well on your holiday then we are sure we fit the bill.
Normally
you will need to persuade us not to come with you for the skiing so
travel etc is no problem. Ski passes are comparatively inexpensive and
ski hire is readily available in all resorts.
At the end of the day we invite you to enjoy a good meal in front of a large log fire.
